A very interesting and extremely enjoyable wine here. Freshness of fruit, complexity of barrel fermentation and balanced minerality. Expect notes of florals, stonefruits and citrus. A light, delicate style of wine but none the lesser for it. To put it simply – delicious.
Product Details
The Adelina vineyards are situated in Spring Farm Valley, just south of the township of Clare. Their neighbours include the vineyards of Wendouree, Aberfeldy and Sevenhill Cellars. The small Adelina plantings were originally established around 1910; mostly Shiraz and Grenache with small plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
This unique white varietal has been sourced from the Adelaide Hills, outside of the Adelina Winery. These young Arneis vines were planted in 2000. Fruit was picked in the cool of the morning. A split between 90% stainless inoculated fermentation and 10% neutral barrique indigenous fermentation. Once dry the wine was stabilised and bottled.
